Veiga&Ventós is a civil engineering firm founded by two engineering brothers. The company was taking its first steps and they were in need of a visual identity that reflected their values and business area in order to start sowing recognition through constancy and consistency in the use of the brand.
To develop a sober aesthetic that could transmit responsibility, credibility and seriousness, without leaving aside their creative problem-solving capabilities.
To meet the first objective, we would rely on both the typographic fonts and the geometric shapes of each element belonging to the logo and on the colour palette, leaning towards neutrals as a base. While creativity would be represented by the integration between the shape and the name of the company.
Several options were proposed revolving around the company’s acronym displayed in a way to construct shapes relative to Civil Engineering.
The problem was that, even these were on topic for what en engineer is able to work on, most of those kinds of projects were something they probably wouldn’t dedicate to, since it’s not such a common local thing.
A more realistic alternative was to base the design on Steel Framing structure technologies; something that would represent their work in a much better way.
The design was developed close enough to make it, but another idea with whole different aesthetic approach was also being considered.
The chosen one
The engineers decided to give Veiga&Ventos a simpler modern aesthetic, choosing one of the most geometric-based minimalistic options we working on.
Serious, stable, well proportioned, symmetric, conformed by basic shapes; a thoroughly calculated structure whose layers give a glimpse of two “V” letters in a row.
